Christmas 2010 comes to a close and I am no longer listening to "All I Want for Christmas" radio on Pandora. I opened my e-mail today, a belated Christmas message from my parish, and wanted to share this. Simple, powerful, says a lot with a little.
In "The Work of Christmas," Howard Thurman penned:
When the song of angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among the community,
To make music in the heart.
