My friend Liz sent myself, and seven of her other friends, this e-mail today.  By the time I read through the chain I read the statements, "I have a weird fascination with prostitutes," "envying someone for prostituting is like envying someone for eating at McDonald's," and "I have obviously considered multiple scenarios in which I both eat at McDonald's and prostitute myself.  I think the sky's the limit." The last one is Liz and, thanks to making this e-mail chain public, you all know how she funds her law school experience. Joke.

I couldn't help but laugh before actually reading the source and replied with,

My Dearest Liz,

According to our madame here, "there's no entrance exam when it comes to sex work." Well Liz, you're a strong willed woman and I believe that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Even if that thing is whoring yourself out at the local Mickey D's. So drop that LSAT talk lady, let's find you a suitable John with a strong pimp hand. Dream big.

For real though, after reading the stories of Charlotte Shane (whom writes under a pen name) the more I become interested a woman I cannot relate to on a surface level.  She writes with transparency while protecting herself at the core.  She's only a couple years older than me but, for obvious reasons, conveys a level of wisdom beyond my understanding.  If you can look past her questionable career choice and shun your judging aside, it's just another girl exploring her place in the world.
